Tattoo Care
For the best healing results please keep and follow our aftercare guideline below.
The healing takes about 1-2 weeks depending on the size and the type of the skin.
Colorful tattoo care
Gently wash the tattoo with mild, unscented liquid antibacterial or antimicrobial soap. Use your hands to gently rub the tattoo, removing all traces of blood, plasma, or leaked ink. This will help to prevent the tattoo from scabbing too soon. Do not use a washcloth or any type of sponge to clean the tattoo, as these may harbor bacteria. Gently pat it dry with a little paper towel. Once your tattoo is fully dry and the skin begins to feel tight you can apply a light layer of Bepanthen cream and wrap with clean foil again. Do this procedure in every 3-4 hours for the first 2 days.
Always do the aftercare procedure before bedtime and after sleeping. From the 3rd day dont use anymore wrapping, but keep using the Bepanthen 2-3 times daily during the entire healing period.
It is very important to use the cream regulary, never let your skin dry out. Only touch it with clean hands, never scratch or pick at your tattoo.
This aftercare guideline works in most cases of coloured tattoos, but it is the best to follow the advice of your tattoo artist in a case of a bigger/smaller tattoos.
To do's during the recovery time:
- Avoid soaking the tattoo. Until your tattoo is fully healed, you should avoid swimming in a pool, in the sea, or even soaking in the bathtub.
- Avoid direct sunlight, tanning studio.
- Use antibacterial or antimicrobial soap.
- As your tattoo heals, will begin to scab. This is normal, and the scabs should be allowed to dry out and fall off by themselves. Do not try to help the process along by picking at the scabs. This may cause the scabs to fall off prematurely, leaving holes or light spots on your tattoo.
- Avoid hard manual labor, intense excercises in the first 4-5 days.
